Protected hand-launch area inside Santa Cruz Harbor. Exact meetup and launch instructions are provided with your booking.

Half Moon Bay

Protected beach launch inside Pillar Point Harbor, next to the boat-launch area. No surf launch required.

3Your anglers and kayaks

Every guided angler goes out in their own kayak, so pick one boat per person. The $50 guide fee is charged for each of them.

4Anything else?

Bait and tackle are available for purchase from us at the launch.

Always included: hobie MirageDrive 180 pedal drive, life jacket (PFD), paddle, dry bag, landing net, stringer clip, insulated cooler bag, fish grips, bilge pump, safety whistle, safety flag, basic safety equipment, launch and equipment briefing.

Back in by noon (12 PM)

Launch as early as you like — the bay is glass at dawn and the fishing is better for it — but every kayak is off the water by noon, before the afternoon wind.

· Full refund or free rescheduling if Bay Kayak Fishing cancels because of unsafe weather or ocean conditions
· Full refund or one free reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice; late cancellations and no-shows are not refundable
· Valid California fishing license required for anglers age 16 or older
· Renters must be 18 or older, or accompanied by an adult
· Renters must follow the approved fishing area and return-time instructions for their rental
· Rentals are offered only when Bay Kayak Fishing determines conditions are appropriate
